A Birkin for less than a Birkin?

Hello hello,

This post is slightly different. This isn't actually about the oh-so-famous crazily priced Birkins.
I wanted to talk a little bit about something that is an obvious controversial topic.
Before you start bashing my blog and want to change the url, hear me out.
I'm absolutely against fake goods, and I would never ever promote it. Being a designer myself, I think it is the utmost disrespect to replicate a designer piece without permission so you're safe with me! I give you my word.
The brand I want to talk about today is named T.A.T.A Baby, a brand that specializes in photoprints of Birkin. I wanted to introduce this brand because I've had many mix reviews about it from my friends. This is my 2 cents.
yep, you're probably thinking to yourself now, Tammy doesn't know what she's talking about, that girl is contradicting herself.

Personally, I think that it's kinda funny. The difference between fake goods and T.A.T.A baby is that,
(1) Fake goods : replicates an item without permission and sells for a cheaper price, basically exploiting the design for personal benefits.
(2) T.A.T.A baby: is an inspired, and quirky way of appealing the birkin to the younger generation because of its fabric and zipper features.

Yes, they do use a photo print, and that is bascially the picture of the real Birkin, but in all seriousness, are you really going to mistake that for a real Birkin bag?No.. because it's a fabric printed bag with a zipper. A Birkin doesn't have a zipper at the top!I actually think it's really cool because the photo print is sooooo realistic that from a distance it actually does look like a real Birkin.

My Verdict?
I think it's fun and quirky. I first heard about T.A.T.A Baby from my Mom when I saw her carry one home from Hong Kong, see the thing is, my mom has two Birkins but she doesn't let that stop her from having fun from an inspired Birkin and I think that's pretty awesome. I would definitely get one but to be honest, it is actually quite pricey, one is around 3,400.00 HKD. If you're afraid that people would criticize you for carrying a T.A.T.A Baby, just remember, you're not carrying a fake and it's not like you're even trying to pass it off as a real one. I wouldn't buy the bag because I want to own a Birkin, I think that beats the point of the whole fake bag talk, I would buy it because I actually like it. If you like it enough, it doesn't matter what people say, it's cool. Buy it for the right reasons!
